Well, the wait is over (and I waited nervously and excitedly all night long to prepare for this announcement). J.K. Rowling earlier this morning announces the grand plans for Pottermore. But there are not many details. Unfortunetley we might need to wait some more.
As the clock ticked down on her Pottermore YouTube video to zero it suddenly flashed to J.K. Rowling sitting in a chair no taking up the video space that had been occupied by all that pink.
She began by thanking everybody for being a part of the Harry Potter series as the last movie installment draws near. She goes on to say that she still receives lots of letters and emails from fans of the books and newly acquired fans how much they enjoy and love the world of Harry Potter, saying that the books are more popular than ever with no waning in site.
With that in mind she announced that she was bringing Harry Potter the printed book to the digital online world. In a very cool animation you can see the words coming off the books forming what looks like interesting shapes and characters.
She continues by suggesting that the viewer, the reader or you will be a part in shaping this new online world and suggests that the users of Pottermore might be the ones creating and filling in this world. She also added she would be providing additional information she had been “hoarding for years about the world of Harry Potter”.
She finally ended the video by saying a “a lucky few can enter early and help shape the experience, just follow the owl.” The video shows a small owl paper machete figure and a owl shadow. Pottermore will be open to everyone in October.
The Pottermore website has changed to show in the middle a simple submit your email address that will notify you when registration will be open to everyone. On the right is a green looking smartboard screen that has the following written inside Pottermore is a free website that builds an exciting online experience around the reading of the Harry Potter books. So how can you or I enter Pottermore early? It says to “come back on 31st July to find out how you can get the chance to enter Pottermore early.”
There is no other mention of what exactly will be detailed in this world or any mention of a Harry Potter Treasure Hunt. But that could still all be on the table.
Meanwhile on Pottermore Twitter’s account @pottermore the buzz has generated more followers and tweets. Last night she had over 82,000 foll0wers and this morning up to 87,000 on this account. She tweeted this earlier this morning:

So we have to come back on Harry’s birthday? Huh. Can’t wait.
I’m thinking they are going to select people randomly through emails who fill out a survey or something to qualify for the “lucky few” who will get the chance to beta test Pottermore. Maybe they make this announcement on July 31st, Rowling’s birthday and Potters. Wow.

There is no point in trying to figure it out until July 31.. on the website it says “Come back on 31st July to find out how you can get the chance to enter Pottermore early.” So, she isn’t going to announce who gets in early, she is going to announce HOW to get in early.

I signed up with my email today and it said my email was saved, but i never got and email back. Is that okay or does it mean my email didnt get in? Im so confused about pottermore but i really want to be part of it. Could someone please help me?

hi i think that the numbers on the left side of the desk means to look at the words on tht page so 219621 or wat ever the number is will be to look at the 2 letter then the 1 then the 9 and so on and it will make a sentance so try tht and it is chapter six tht u have to look at

pottermore! 3 more days i hope i get in on 31st of july i love harry potter i even look like him a bit got a scare i have kind of the same hair as the old him also i have this cousin who knows almost everything about harry potter and she feeds me with info about harry potter also shes read all the books and watched all the films i hope i get in and dont have to wait till october for it.

Either that time or around 6:00 in the morning. Depends if it’s London Time. I’m going to try London Time midnight and see what’s there.
Yawn, sooooo tired. Its 1:36 on the 31st. Finally got on pottermore after, due to high demand blah blah 15 secs, 15 secs. And it’s the same as i saw it last with come back on 31st to find out how to get on early????????
I think that’s because a high volume of people just automatically went there to see if it opened up. But thinking nothing will happen till 12:00 midnight U.S. time.
What is meant to be happening on it?
Keep checking back, maybe when it’s July 31st for both U.S. and London time which would be either 12:00 midnight or 6:00 am U.S. time.
I know the server keeps crashing but even when i get onto the site, nothings changed. There are rumors going round it opens at 12 noon uk time but i’m not sure. Anyone know?
That sounds about right U.S. time around 6:00 in the morning around the same time as the announcement.

Check Pottermore.com every half hour starting midnight where ever you live. That’s the only way you can mostly be assured of getting in I’m afraid.
I registered on day 3 so does any one have any idea of when I will get on like the date for day 3 early access

You’ll have to wait till Pottermore gives everyone the green light to register. Even then, they are going to stagger the amount of people they let into the site.
It could be days, weeks or even months before everyone who registers will get access. Right now it’s still the extended beta period.
