The political, economic and social landscape of America has changed a lot since Newt Gingrich last ran for President of the United States. The recession’s effects of rising unemployment and surging government deficits are looming as serious obstacles for any presidential nominee making a run in 2012.

Mr. Gingrich has restructured and streamlined his internet presence in recent years making him a viable threat to Obama and his successful online campaign team. Newt has established a strong foothold on the internet in these areas: Twitter (over 1,320,000 followers), Facebook, Youtube and Newt.org.
You can bet Twitter will be an important battleground for the 2012 Presidential canditates as they prepare for a run next year.
