You knew it was going to happen. The government shut down this past Tuesday, October 2nd, and Saturday Night Live SNL would be broadcasting soon after in a couple of days. You also knew the writers of SNL were planning a parody skit on the government shutdown, this was as sure as death and taxes.
But a combination spoof of the government shutdown plus Miley Cyrus’s own parody of her performance at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards singing “We Can’t Stop” combined in one video!? No, I don’t think many of us saw that coming.
Say what you will about the erratic and immature behavior of Miley Cyrus over the past couple of months, it’s been down right embarrassing at times. However, oddly this “twerking” behavior was a key part of the hilarious Saturday Night Live SNL spoof video entitled: ‘We Did Stop” the Government starring Miley Cyrus as Michele Bachmann/Miley Cyrus.
The video aired last night on SNL and featured Miley Cyrus dressed up like an executive looking Michele Bachmann and Taran Killam playing the funny role of John Boehner.
The video is a deliberate spoof on Miley’s twerking video and performance at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. Many of Miley Cyrus’s twerks are present here as well as some funny Boehner exaggerations by Killam.
So are you asking yourself “darn, I missed last night’s SNL show, where can I watch the Miley Cyrus spoof video We Did Stop the Government video starring John Boehner and Michele Bachmann?”. Well, right here of course.
