Who Won The Fight Between Floyd Mayweather and Canelo Alverez?

Floyd Mayweather and Canelo Alvarez took to the ring this Saturday night, September 14th 2013, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas for the Super Welterweight World Championship, the WBC/WBA 154-pound title fight.

So who won the fight between Floyd Mayweather and Canelo Alverez? (See bottom of post for the winner).

This was a late night fight beginning around 10:40 p.m. in Las Vegas. Here is how the fight broke down on Twitter.

Many fans on Twitter gave the first round to Floyd Mayweather and the second possibly to Canelo Alvarez. From there it looked like Canelo barely held his ground in round 3, however; the next couple of rounds Mayweather seemed to turn on the lights and get down to business. Many tweeting Mayweather was zoning in on Canelo cracking through his defense with some easy jabs at this point.

In the middle rounds Mayweather was able to get some nice punches in there with many on Twitter claiming it was looking like Mayweather was starting to take Canelo to school. Some even noting the Canelo Alverez was starting to look worn down.

As this fight wore on so did Canelo. It was starting to look like Mayweather was in complete control.  By round 7 most had Mayweather taking all the rounds up to this point.

By round 8 it looked like Floyd Mayweather was dominating and separating himself with mastery of skill from Canelo. Canelo could not keep up with his hand speed and stamina. Some tweeting it was separating the men from the boys. Its now round 9 and Mayweather is just pounding Canelo. By round 10 its over, Mayweather pitching a possible shutout. Mayweather was dominating so much he stopped to pose for photographers at ringside.

Round 10 is over and Floyd Mayweather wins via wins via majority decision, 114-114, 116-112 and 117-111.
